Clubfoot

Clubfoot in a birth defect in which the feet are turned inwards and appear like golf clubs. Although clubfoot is diagnosed at birth, many cases are first detected during a prenatal ultrasound. In about half of the children with clubfoot, both feet are affected. Boys are twice more likely than girls to have the deformity.

What is Limb Lengthening Surgery?

A lot of patients come to our OPD with complaints of limb length discrepancy (one limb shorter than the other) to old infection, old malunited fracture or birth defect. These patients are offered the treatment of limb lengthening using the technique of Distraction Osteogenesis invented in Russia in 1980’s and thereafter improved upon. Additionally any deformity can also be corrected in the same procedure.

Osteoporosis – The silent bone killer

Osteoporosis in medical terms in poor bone density; but generally speaking it is having fragile or brittle bones which might lead to fractures with minimal injury . It has various risk factors associated which usually help a doctor to identify it, but its unfortunately absolutely asymptomatic until the patient fractures a bone.
